Non Finis Quaerendi (2017)

This project centers on a period of fieldwork conducted in Uganda in 2017. During this time I conducted archival and oral history interviews on the subject of the Uganda Martyrs, the construction of the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in 1969, and the growth of vernacular religious visual culture in Kampala and its surrounding regions over the past 50 years. The images I made sought to reflect this scholarship by examining moments of vernacular religiosity in everyday life.
